United Goals: A Talking Walls Exhibition
As curator of United Goals: Empowering Climate Justice and Indigenous Ways of Knowing, Angel brought together youth artists to explore climate justice through Indigenous perspectives.
Indigenous youth stand at the forefront of the fight against land and resource exploitation, drawing strength from their deep connection to ancestral knowledge and lived experiences. This exhibition celebrates the resilience and creativity of these young leaders as they navigate the complexities of climate change, climate justice and their inherent rights to the land of their ancestors.
Through the tools they were born with—their minds, hearts and spirits—these youth weave together stories that honour their teachings and new ways of being by forging narratives that reflect their journeys. The exhibition reveals beauty in adversity, capturing moments of grace, understanding and resistance in the face of profound loss. The transformation of once-familiar lands into unrecognizable spaces echoes the pain and grief they carry, yet their art speaks to an unyielding strength.
Every image in this collection offers a glimpse into the unique perspectives of Indigenous youth as they confront today’s challenges. Their contributions to this zine are a testament to their enduring power and resilience, inviting you to witness the courage it takes to be an Indigenous youth in the modern world.
